Overbites Pictures, LLC is an independent production company that was established in Ohio in April 2006. Our company mission is to develop and produce original, comedy-based motion pictures and documentaries that are socially relevant, with strong links to contemporary culture and popular interests.
Overbites Pictures began in 2005, drawn together by the script for COONS! Night of the Bandits of the Night, a horror/comedy about a campground attacked by killer raccoons that would later be called, “A really good movie,” by ABC-TV in Columbus. The filmmakers brought in members from comedy troupes at Ohio University to play multiple roles for the story, and used real, dead, frozen raccoons to play the movie’s stars. The movie opened to a successful limited release in a Columbus theater, and performed well on college campuses and in smaller film festivals around the country. Soon thereafter, legendary cult distributor, Troma Entertainment, Inc., picked it up for worldwide home-video distribution.
